UPCOMING TESTING

Mountain View Middle School

Desk with Books, pencils, blocks, and an Apple

Testing starts next week

Dear MVMS Families,
Our staff and students have been working hard in preparation for the upcoming Spring testing window. All students in grades 6–8 will participate in the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) for both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. These assessments include two components: the Performance Task (PT) and the Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). Additionally, 8th grade students will take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS).
You can help support your child’s success by ensuring they get plenty of rest and arrive to school on time each day of testing.
Testing Schedule:
  • May 6: ELA CAT (Grades 6–8)
  • May 8: ELA PT (Grades 6–8)
  • May 9: ELA Makeup Tests and Additional Time
  • May 13: Math CAT (Grades 6–8)
  • May 15: Math PT (Grades 6–8)
  • May 16: Math Makeup Tests and Additional Time
  • May 20: WCAS (Grade 8)
  • May 22: WCAS Makeup Tests (Grade 8)
If you wish to opt your child out of state testing, please contact Ralph Wisner to schedule a meeting and obtain the test refusal form.
For any additional questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to Kristen Ware (Academic Dean) at kristen.ware@bremertonschools.org or call 360-473-0647.
Thank you for your continued support as we partner to help our students succeed.
