Mt. View Families,
As April 20 approaches, we want to partner with you in keeping our school community safe and healthy.
April 20, often referred to as “4/20,” is associated with marijuana use. While most youth choose not to participate, some may feel pressure on this highly commercialized day. Staying consistent with expectations and school policies around no substance use helps protect all students.
Please remember that marijuana use is illegal for anyone under the age of 21. Adolescence is also a critical time for brain development, and choices made now can shape long-term habits and overall well-being.
We encourage you to talk with your child about making safe, healthy choices and to clearly share your expectations. You are the most powerful influence in your child’s life. To support you, we’ve included resource links at the end of this message to help guide these conversations.
If you have concerns about your student, please contact the Student Assistance Program for support and to learn more about available options for your child.
With strong communication, monitoring, and a shared commitment to a substance-free environment, we can help all students thrive.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
